dgroups have started!

Last month we were on the ground at different campuses casting vision and calling people to join dgroups. Now that we have enough people, our groups are thriving. One thing I love love love about dgroup is how we are focused on obedience to the Word. This week, the students in dgroup were asking me how I was going to practically apply action to what God was speaking. I gave an answer to that they replied, β€œaahh, more specific.” πŸ˜… Talk about challenging.

Another thing I love is you never know who is going to show up. There’s always someone new. Students will see us having dgroup and poke their head in to see what’s going on. Colleagues will call their classmates over to join us. Some keep moving to their next thing, while others stay and participate.

Each student pictured above has a wonderful and powerful testimony. My favorites are the testimonies in the making.

A few girls we met on campus, that have no interest in church, have become some of my nearest friends. They are funny, transparent, and very talkative. They are only interested in reading the Bible with me because it’s an open and freeing atmosphere for them to learn and ask questions. When I first met one of these girls, she openly declined our invite into community. Every time I saw her on campus though I would give her a hug. NOW, she is bringing her friends to dgroup and is always first to talk about what she thinks the Word is saying. Her WhatsApp stories still have unwholesome content on itπŸ˜…, BUT I love how I’m seeing her testimony change with every question she asks about Jesus.

Zo has been working to start a group on a campus that is influenced heavily by American culture, which we have a little experience with. Zo and Celso went 2 months without seeing much fruit. After much prayer, the Lords specific guidance and strategy, they finally started a dgroup! They were encouraged to not grow weary in doing good. They have had dgroup on this campus for a month now!

At another campus, during their first dgroup of 5 people they read through Matthew 4:18 where Jesus called some of his disciples. Everyone was challenged to call and bring people to the next dgroup. Two specific students brought a total of 15 people to the next group! We’re praying for these two students to be leaders of their own groups in the near future.

Zo took β€œpreach the good news” literally this month. He had some speaking opportunities lined up and spoke his heart out with every sermon. Thank you to all who were praying for him during this time.
